With the publication of ISO Directives, Part 1, Annex SL, a structure for integrated management systems has been agreed by ISO.  The current revisions in progress for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 will be using this structure.  Undoubtably, OHSAS 18001 will also be revised in the nesr future once the re-structuring of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 has been decided.

You will see that some of the new clauses do not have an exact correspondence with existing requirements.  Interestingly enough, the requirement for Preventive Action has been repositioned as part of Planning and Risk Assessment;  in this way, it is hoped that the requirement can be better understood and its relationship to Corrective Action (often referred to as CAPA) can be better understood and Preventive Action can be seen as a separate element rather than confused with a part of Corrective Action.

If the alignment of requirements appears to be changing, this PAS will be revised
